Troy Rushmeyer (Chair)

Troy is passionate about being a positive influence for the youth in our community. He grew up playing baseball with Brainerd Parks and Recreation as well as pick-up games all summer long at Mills field (just down the street from his grandparents' house). Troy played football, basketball and baseball in the Brainerd school district until a back injury sidelined him after 10th grade, and for the rest of his high school sports career. He played adult softball for many years in the Brainerd area. "It’s been hard to watch the Brainerd youth travel and recreation baseball programs dwindle in numbers/participants over the last decade or so in comparison to what it once was. My dream is to bring this longstanding tradition back for the upcoming kids and families in our community." Troy’s coaching experience includes 23 years with Brainerd Parks and Recreation (Girls Softball and Boys Baseball), and 12 years with Brainerd Boys Traveling Baseball.

Troy currently serves as Vice President for the Brainerd Park Board, and is a High School faith formation group leader for St. Andrews Catholic Church. He is a Registered Nurse, serving in the ICU at Essentia Health, SJMC.  Troy has also been a welder/fabricator for nearly 30 years.

Troy and his wife, Katy, have a daughter, Riley, three sons Steven, Trenton and Noah. They also have a grandson, Kale.

Zach Heidmann

Zach was born and raised in Baxter, MN. While growing up in Brainerd, he played soccer, football, basketball, and baseball; football and baseball in high school.

His favorite sport was baseball and he played Brainerd Travel Baseball from the age of 9-15. After high school he played one year at Central Lakes College in Brainerd. Following CLC, he attended North Dakota State University to play baseball on scholarship from 2008-2011.

Sports have been a central commonality with his family and extended family, especially baseball. His grandfather, and recently his dad Randy, were inducted into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. Before moving back to Brainerd, he had worked with one-on-one baseball training in Fargo for 2 years.
